© 2017-2418 The Lowest of Low. (Il Più Basso del Basso.) Orgogliosamente creato utilizzando perché siamo parsimoniosi (e alcuni dicono, pigri).

First song, fourth album. Heh heh heh. “Morning Oud”.  The oud is one of the oldest stringed instruments that man devised, and is still a prominent feature in some Middle Eastern music.   I think this is a lovely, joyous song to open out Horus Tweets.

Horus Tweets was great fun to write.  Free from the emotional turmoil and life irritations that accompanied the writing of Babylon, it’s kind of a great, free tour-de-force.  It also straddles a period in which I started to find my feet in a lot of ways, personally and musically.

The title comes from the idea that Horus is the Lord of this particular Aeon.  He is a child god, and a warrior.  The idea of the Aeon’s character as personified in this Egyptian god-form is primarily one of childishness, frivolity, and unrest.  And we do see this as our times… progress.  So then I thought, “If Horus is the Lord of the Aeon, and he wanted to talk to humans, how would he do it?”  Well, he’d Tweet, of course. Just like a World Leader. Just like a baby Hawk-headed warlord.  I designed the cover with the idea of this poor, wonderful god ruling over the squalor that is modern life.. and being also, in some ways, the absolute quintessence of it, too.

Oh! And I almost forgot! Here’s a snippet of the song in the Italian promo for the album I made:

Please enjoy it!

Morning Oud (Horus Tweets) The Lowest of Low

  • So you want to download some nifty tracks? That's awesome!!  Here's a little info about our dowloads.

When you purchase a track, you will be sent to a page with a direct link for downloading. If you're on an iPhone or other portable Apple device, thanks to Apple's sharey policies, it won't let you do it directly onto your phone (erm... I think you can from Apple's own stores, but that's not strongarmy or anything, that's... ahem, good business).

To download our tracks directly from us for use on an Apple device, you'll have to go to a desktop-format whizbang to get your track.... but you probably know that already. Still, worth mentioning, though, in case it's your first time. If you're on an Android or other OS device, things should go smoothly without the interim procedures.

BUT! No worries, no matter what.  You'll also be sent an email with the download link to the track you've purchased, just so you don't lose it in life's bubblicious hubbub.  The link in the email is valid for 30 days, so even if you don't download straight away (because, you know, you're at work and the boss just looked over your shoulder to see how that spreadsheet is coming along... or something), you'll still have it ready and waiting for you like that limoncello you put in the fridge for when you get home...  If you get super-busy, or (like us in storm season) you suddenly lose internet connectivity for a whole month, don't worry!  Fire us an email and explain what happened, and we'll re-send a new link right back to you.  Truly "lossless" mp3s right here....

If you've bought the album(s), first of all, thank you!  Those arrive to you in a zipped-up format (zip file). You'll need to unzip it (or maybe your super awesome device will do it automatically for you, in which case, yay) before you can put it where you want it and enjoy it.  It's all pretty straightforward and simple, but if you do have any problems, fire us off an email and we'll work on it wth you.

Finally, thank you very much for buying our music directly from us.  We work hard to make this stuff, and we're delighted if it touches something in you.  Also, from a practical perspective, it helps us out a lot more since Wix, our internet host, doesn't take a cut like some other huge outlets. So you can feel happy to know that your track money is going directly to buy garlic for at least one hungry electronic music artist in Sicily without any middlemen (well, there's the taxman, but... he's a lifesucker in almost every region of the planet for little folks like us...).

And if you buy more than one track or album, we get coffee, too! Wooo!

(Ahem.) Please enjoy your downloads. That's what makes us truly happy.
