Welcome To The Exciting Privacy Policy!

Privacy Policy

In order to comply with the ever-expanding legal requirements implied in having an online existence, we need to set out a Privacy Policy, so that you know exactly what we are doing with whatever information you give us (in subscribing to newsletters, contacting us, or buying stuff from our shop).

When you enter your email address to subscribe to our newsletters, we will store and use that information on our site to send you occasional emails. Very occasional, probably (I don’t like to bother people with too much junk, so I think, in the past two years I’ve sent out one, by accident, because there was some automatic thing I didn’t realise wasn’t disabled). Any emails, if I do send them, will be related to new albums coming out, or stuff about the shop (like free stuff or coupons for discounts).  Again, very occasional, if at all. I get so much junk mail myself, I don’t like the idea of adding to that for anybody else.

We will not pass on (or sell) your email address (or any other information you give us) to ANYONE else, unless you buy something, in which case, we will need to share your name, address and phone number, along with any special instructions for your package (like “don’t leave it in the garage, there’s an unruly skunk in there” or whatever) with the workshop so they can put it on your package and get your stuff sent out to you.  We don’t send your payment details to them because you pay us, and then we pay them.  Your payments come to us either via Paypal, or through secure socket stuff that we don’t know anything about, the rest of the “fulfilment process” (paying the workshop) we do with our own account. Your payment details aren’t even shared with us here, except the amount we’ve received.

The personal information you give us here will be used ONLY for the purposes you’re giving it in the first place. (So, if you sign up for email newsletters, we’ll use your email address to send you those. In fact, we don’t even ask for your name when you sign up for email newsletters because companies are always doing stupid crap like that for no good reason, and we made the design decision not to do that.

If you give us your name, address, phone number, email address and payment details because you’re ordering something, we will use those items of personal information ONLY to fulfil your order (to send you email confirmations when your payment has gone through, and to give you tracking numbers once your order is shipped out).  If there’s something about your order (confirmation needed about something, updating you with tracking info, or answering a question you’ve sent us), we will reply to you by email. We don’t phone.  The phone number is for the delivery people, to put on the package in case they can’t find you, or something (like they EVER phone anyway….).

If you give us personal information because you’re signing up to be a site member (so that you can save shop items in a “wish list”, or because you’d like to be able to see what you ordered in the past or maybe track your order here on site) that information will be stored here so that you can access it. We don’t have access to things like your password, just to the fact that you’ve become a site member. We will NOT use that to send you junk mail, and we will certainly never, ever, ever share or sell your details to anybody anywhere, ever.

If you sign up to email newsletters or as a site member, you will receive an (automatic) email from us to confirm that you’ve done it. But that’s it.

Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to run our shop. Your data will get stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications we use to provide a (hopefully!) easy-to-use website. Wix stores your data for what we do here on secure servers behind a firewall. It’s nice to think they have a moat with alligators too, but they probably don’t.  But it’s up-to-date, modern industry-standard high-security data stuff.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by us on this site adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. We don’t see any card details. We just receive your cleared payment from the credit card company with a reference to what order it’s for so we can ship out the right stuff to the right person. It’s handled completely separately, kind of like Paypal.

If you have any questions about all of this, please write to me at TheLowestOfLow@gmx.com (no strings attached for that, I’ll just write back and hopefully answer any questions you’ve asked, and that’s it — no sudden mailing list crap about it).  You can also write to ask what information you’ve given us, if you really want to.  We won’t change our policy of not sharing your information with others except the workshop to fulfil your orders, because we think that’s slimy. Maybe it’s normal nowadays, but it’s still slimy as hell, and I don’t believe in doing that kind of thing.

Hopefully, now, this policy (which you didn’t actually read, did you? Well done if you did! At least it’s not iTunes! HAHAHAHA) will fulfil the GDSR hoops we need to jump through to keep the internet safe, and keep you informed … or something like that.

Bottom line: we don’t sell your info or misuse it, or give it to others who might do so. WIX looks after keeping all that stuff locked up safe in secure data storage behind firewalls (and possibly alligator moats) and secure sockets (whatever those might be) so none of us have to lose sleep about it. As for me, I just make music and sell cool stuff, which I want you to enjoy with all your heart (and that includes not getting spammed or scammed by douchebags because of it).
